Southern Pacific Railroad freight train symbol PTCIY is at Gibson, CA on June 8, 1980. Gibson is a 4,970 foot siding at milepost 304 (about 18 miles south of Dunsmuir). Train PTCIY handled traffic from Seattle via the BN destined for West Colton, City of Industry and other points in Southern California. Note the BN and Canadian National cars on the headend. This train became PTCIM in October 1985 and became the BNWCP in the Fall of 1986.
The train has engines 9276, 9239, and 8902. If you look closely (just below the first CN boxcar), you can see some guys panning for gold in the Sacramento River. You will notice that there is no traffic on Interstate 5. That is because I know when to play my Coup Fourre cards and have exclusive use of the highway. Coup Fourre (pronounced Coo-Foo-Ray) cards are from the French Mille Bornes game. Disk 19
