Southern Pacific Railroad Mojave Flyer at Tunnel 7 in the Tehachapi Mountains

Southern Pacific Railroad Mojave Flyer at Tunnel 7 in the Tehachapi Mountains

The Mojave Flyer pops out of tunnel 7 and flies up the hill with just two units. The train is all empty covered hoppers. The first car will go to United Carbon south of Mojave. The short 35 foot covered hoppers are for cement loading at either Monolith or Creal. The 47 foot covered hoppers are for potash from the plants at Trona, CA. Tunnel 7 is 532 feet long. Disk 42
