Chicago Northwestern Overland Route in Iowa and Illinois

The CNW was double tracked from Chicago to Council Bluffs by 1902, and had added signals by 1908. Around 1928 the CNW installed Automatic Train Control on the main line from Chicago to Council Bluffs.
