Southwest of Vaughn is where the main attraction to the line was located. There were many old semaphore signals. However, by 1988 the SP was replacing the signals that had protected the line since the 1920s.

Train 2GS is at the east end of the siding at Duran on February 21, 1974. If I remember correctly the engine numbers were 9208, 8666, and Rock Island 266.

The semaphore signals had already been replaced at the west end of Duran by early 1988. Disk 58
