On another trip on May 17, 1978, I kept hearing a lot of chatter on my scanner, and decided to try taking a picture at the Pecos River bridge just in case the train was near. I didn't have long to wait before catching train 993. Train 993 is the identification for a westbound freight train on the Carrizozo Subdivision. I think the actual train symbol was GSLAY. The train had SP6575 plus Rock Island engines 389, 385, and 263. |
