Train RVMEY has just come to a screeching halt near Hornbrook. Just moments before, the conductor radioed the engineer that they have a car on the ground. The offending car stopped just about 100 yards before the dragging equipment detector at mp385.5. The sun was beginning to drop below the mountains when I grabbed these pictures. The crew uncoupled from the derailed car and pulled forward to clear the crossing. They then called for the wheel truck to come out of Medford to rerail the car. I was able to walk in and get a shot of the car before the wheel truck arrived. On the headend were engines 9170, 8306, (I missed the other unit number) with helper engines 9395, 9216, and 9008.
