Engine 6089 comes by the North Fort Worth Tower with a transfer run for Centennial Yard on November 28, 1980. The famed Fort Worth stockyards are off to the left. During World War II the stockyards were processing about four million head of cattle each year. There had been two major meat processing plants in the area. Armour shut down in 1962 and Swift closed its doors in 1972.
On April 13, 1979 a transfer run from the SP Broadway Yard is rolling north about to cross the Trinity River on it way to North Yard. The train has SD7s 817 and 850 with an SP U30C and SD40. The track in the background on the fill belongs to the Santa Fe. Disk 89
