Extra 6312 East is in the siding at Winton. After striking up a conversation with the engineer, he let me come up into the cab and grab a shot of Extra 5750 West.

As the train leaves the siding I got a better picture of some of the interesting units on this eastbound. The train had engines 6312, 6349 and GN9857. The Great Northern unit is an SDP-45. The Great Northern received a group of these units in June 1967 to replace aging F7s in its passenger fleet. After Amtrak started in 1971, these units were re-assigned to freight service. Disk 6
