CarrTracks, the leading website for western historical train symbol
information. I have been producing freight train history, blocking, and
schedule books since 1984. I hope some of the information posted here
helps you enjoy this great hobby. There are over 2,200 pages on
this site, so make sure you bookmark this page so you can come back

I live in Dallas, Texas. This website is hosted by
CrossSpot in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Thanks to all that have
purchased my books and videos. I want to keep this website free for the
enjoyment of railfans everywhere. Your purchases help me pay the bills for
maintaining this website.
Library
The CarrTracks
library contains articles on railroad operations where you will find
interesting content and good illustrations. Right now, the three largest
articles are on the Burlington Northern, Southern Pacific and Union
Pacific. A smaller article covers hot intermodal trains on the Santa Fe.
There is also an article to help model railroaders dream up realistic
names for their towns, industries, and trains. You can click on most of
the small pictures to display a larger image and get additional
information. Please remember that all of the photos are copyrighted by
CarrTracks and should not be used without permission.
Gallery
The CarrTracks
gallery is divided into sections of pictures. Most sections are arranged
in geographical order. Also, the pictures from several articles in
the library have been chained together so you can easily view all of the
pictures in a particular section. There are over 5,000 pictures in the Gallery.
I am updating all of the pictures in the Gallery as I scan my old slides with a new scanner. I started in the northwest and I am moving south and east.
I've also completed Canada, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Colorado Wyoming, Nebraska, and Iowa. The most recent additions cover the Kansas,
Missouri, and Oklahoma. All photos are then burned on a CD. Each photo CD contains 40 high resolution pictures and 40 lower resolution pictures that you see here on the
website. See the disk number on the picture page.

me
My interest is in railroad freight train operations and
photography, primarily the Santa Fe, BNSF, Burlington Northern, Union
Pacific, and Southern Pacific. See the about page for more information
about me and my connections with the railroads.

CAUTION: Of the 2,700 pages on this site, there
are 1,933 pages that may take more than 30 seconds to load if you are on a
very slow modem. The number of slow pages is getting higher due to larger picture
sizes. Pictures that had been around 50K are now 100K.
There are almost 24,000 links on this site with 46 links to
other sites. As much as I've tried to make sure that all of these links
work, things break. Please let me know of any dead links you discover
while surfing the CarrTracks website. I will be most grateful and you will
be helping your fellow web surfers.
